6-Week Chronic Pain Self-Management Workshop

From 10am until 12:30pm

At Hope House Hospice

10909 Yonge St., Suite 212, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 3E3

FREE

The Chronic Pain Self-Management Program is a two and a half hour workshop held once a week, for six consecutive weeks. The workshops are led by two trained peer leaders who themselves have chronic pain or care for someone with chronic pain.

Classes are very interactive; participants build confidence in their ability to maintain active and fulfilling lives through mutual support and success.

During the workshop, different techniques are discussed such as dealing with frustration, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep; exercise for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and endurance; appropriate use of medications and how to evaluate new treatments; communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals; nutrition, and pacing activity and rest.
Each participant in the workshop receives a copy of the companion books, Living a Healthy Life With Chronic Conditions, 4th Edition, and a Moving Easy Program CD.

If the above workshop is not suitable or registration has closed, you can place your name on our wait-list
